| What
is Endocrinology? |
In Norwich,
Connecticut he founded
the Diabetes and
Endocrine Care Center of Eastern Connecticut
- the first source of specialty Diabetes and Endocrinology care
that city had ever seen, introducing for the first time in that
region:
|
|
|
-
The widespread use of glycohemoglobin testing in patients with
Diabetes
-
Encouraging, and
causing dramatic increase in, the use of Diabetes and Diet
education to improve patients' knowledge, self-care abilities, and
empowerment in prevention strategies
-
Reversing the previous
trend of having women with Diabetes Mellitus or Gestational
Diabetes having to travel to Hartford, New Haven, or Providence -
some 50 - 60 miles away, for their obstetrical care - and allowing
them to safely remain and be cared for, from
pre-conception to post-partum, in the greater Norwich area.
|
|
|
|
|
-
After
re-locating to Providence, Rhode Island, Dr Hein started the Endocrine
Treatment Centers, another practice dedicated to the
delivery of state of the art Diabetes and Endocrinology care. The ETC uses all of Dr
